Are you committed to improving the opportunities of disadvantaged individuals and supporting them to achieve their employment goals? Forth Sector is, and we do this by offering employability training, work placements and paid work opportunities to people who find it harder to access mainstream employment, through disability or some other disadvantage.
Forth Sector is a charity and runs commercial businesses to help us achieve our charitable aims. We employ 80 staff, of whom more than half have some form of disability. We aim to grow our businesses to provide more employment opportunities for more people.
We are keen to enhance the membership of our board with enthusiastic and knowledgeable directors, dedicated to helping disadvantaged people to achieve their employment goals. We are seeking experienced and committed individuals to join our board and help us achieve our objective; helping more clients into work.
Do you have senior experience in employability, running and growing businesses or project management? We would also welcome people with professional backgrounds such as law, accountancy, health and communications. Whatever your background, a commitment to the values of the organisation is crucial.
The Board meet four times a year and members are expected to sit on one of the sub-committees which also meet four times a year. In between meetings your support may take many forms, depending on your skills, experience and availability.
We are also happy to discuss alternative ways of contributing to our work with anyone interested but unable to commit the time required.
Should you be interested in joining our board, please download the role description at the top of this page or contact Margaret Fielding, Company Secretary, on 0131 201 2468 or email: email@example.com . Candidates will be asked to submit a CV for consideration. Following this candidates may be invited for an informal discussion with the Chief Executive and Chair, after which they would be invited to make an application and attend a board meeting.
