Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

If you can't find the answer here then please contact us and we'll do our best to help.

1. Do you give grants?

No. You may be able to access grants through Social Enterprise Edinburgh. Visit the SEE website for information or call on: 0131 659 4740.

2. Do you have volunteers?

No. Our trainees and staff commit to a work routine – this is the philosophy behind Forth Sector’s approach.

3. Can you self-refer?

Yes, you are welcome to do this. Contact our Information Co-ordinator on 0131 659 4710.

4. Where does your income come from?

It comes from a mixture of grant and trading income. The aim of a social firm is to derive at least half its income from sales – we do considerably better than this.

5. Are you grant funded?

Yes, partly. See the response above.

6. What is a social enterprise?

A business that generates income to fund a social purpose. So in our case that income funds supportive employment opportunities for people with mental health problems.
