Within Employability Services we can provide the following services:-
This service is provided to those applicants who need support in order for them to take up a placement within Forth Sector. This may include anxiety management, confidence building and support to access adult literacy classes. Please note applicants must be able to travel independently and be motivated to attend. However if applicants require support during their first couple of appointments that is absolutely fine.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Occupational Therapy (OT)
This is a specialist service delivered either in small groups or individually to address specific issues and help the individual develop coping strategies to enable them to overcome barriers to employment and related issues.
Employability Services has developed a menu of services which is a list of different training opportunities on offer. These include Customer service training, till training, dealing with difficult customers, stock taking, health and safety and many others relevant to the workplace.
The social firms / head office departments provide trainees with work placements where they have the opportunity to learn about and experience being in a real working environment. This helps to use / develop skills that are required for engaging in employment, education or volunteering such as: how to interact with colleagues, how to be responsible at work (e.g.: timekeeping, meeting deadlines, problem solving) and how to work safely.
Each service user is allocated a Case Manager to provide them with ongoing support to sustain the placement and develop their employability. They will meet regularly to review the progress made and identify areas for improvement and development. They will also signpost to key agencies who can support with CV development, application forms and practicing interviewing skills.
Forth Sector recognises that for many people gaining employment or starting a course is just the start. Maintaining work / study can also be exceptionally difficult, and those first few days / weeks can be daunting. The after care / moving on peer support group meets twice per month to allow discussion and sharing of experiences. Offering opportunities to develop coping strategies, seek advice and support, and learn from the experiences of others.

Employability is not just about getting a job. It is about having opportunities
to reflect on experiences, learn about who we are and what we want. For
many it might be about creating a good work/life balance, for some it might
be about job satisfaction
(Taken from UCE Careers Service).
Employability encompasses all the things that enable people to increase their
chances of getting a job, staying in, and progressing further in work
